Under the pilot program, restaurants converted from a pre-existing dining establishment can use the safety approvals granted to the concepts they replace. The shift is expected to cut two weeks out of the opening process.

A majority of consumers—75%—have at least one snack per day, and typical eating behavior is shifting away from the standard “three meals a day.”

Restaurant concepts are breaking out of the brick-and-mortar mold, seizing growth opportunities at colleges, stadiums, c-stores and similar venues.
